About Jay

As an ultra distance athlete and a graduate of the Sue Read School of Body Mechanics, Jay brings both his passion for sport and his expertise to the clinic, helping you achieve and sustain your optimum levels of sporting performance.

As a keen sports person my whole life I have experienced first hand the frustration of injuries both long and short term that have affected my ability to perform at my best; be that running, hockey, football or watersports.

Injuries have also come from unexpected directions, from occupational tasks, activities of daily living (I once injured my back trying on a pair of jeans!), from the accumulation of bad posture or poor quality of self-maintenance after sports.

Through my own experiences I learned that not all sports injury professionals were created equal and when I discovered Sue Read's unique methodology I was hooked. Over 3 years of treatments I became more and more enthralled by both the logic and level of knowledge that is required to treat effectively. As an ultra runner and former military engineer the die was cast to take the difficult and challenging path to become a Clinical Sports Massage Therapist - AKA 'Body Mechanic'.

Having worked on The London Marathon, The Deloitte Ride Across Britain and many other local and national sporting events I've gained experience across many sporting disciplines. The reward of treating sports men and women who can then return to full competitiveness is something I'm truly grateful to be able to experience.
